Jeremy's Christmas Journey Blog Tour & Interview

Jeremy's Christmas Journey Today we're happy to welcome the Jeremy's Christmas Journey Blog Tour!

The author, Mr. Johnson, was kind enough to answer some questions for us:

What convinced you that this specific story needed to be writen?
I have a great desire to let others feel the Spirit of Christ in their lives, so I wanted to write something that allows others to feel this. In addition, so many people struggle with challenges just like Jeremy did. I wanted to show that it is possible to overcome any challenges with the Lord's help.

Do you have a favorite part of this book? What makes it your favorite?
My favorite part is when Jeremy's heart has been touched by the powerful testimonies of the witnesses. As his heart softens he gets to experience the true change of heart that only the Savior can provide. This is a touching and moving part of the book that often arouses deep feelings.

Do you prefer to outline extensively, or are you a more organic writer?
For Jeremy's Christmas Journey I would say it was very organic in nature---at least in the beginning when I created the short story. However, when I expanded the story further I used the short story as an outline, so I guess I am both. But overall, I would lean towards being an organic writer because I generally only create small outline before I write a story.

What was your favorite book as a child, and what do you enjoy reading now?
I really liked The Hungry Caterpillar when I was very young and The Count of Monte Cristo when I was older. Today I really enjoy fantasy, anything related to health, young adult fiction, and Christmas stories.

Have you always wanted to be an author?
I gained a great love for writing in elementary school. My parents, teachers and grandparents saw that love and encouraged me to develop my talents. I can't say I wanted to be a writer growing up, because my other passion is health and I wanted to do something in the health field. But, I never quit writing short stories, poetry and articles for web and print.

If you could choose any book to step into, what would it be? Why?
Probably The New Testament from the Bible because I would love to witness the Savior's mortal ministry---the miracles, listen to the Sermon on the Mount, watch how He interacted with others, etc.

Jeremy's Christmas Journey
by Scott A. Johnson

120 pages
Published October 9, 2012

For Jeremy, Christmas is just another reminder that he'll never be able to enjoy the things that come so easily to other children. Then one night he has a dream that will change everything. Accompanied by stirring music, this story of finding faith and discovering the power of the Master Healer is sure to be cherished at Christmastime and all year long.

CD of music also available.

Did you see it says the CD is available? I think that's one of the greatest parts of this book. The Christmas season is fast approaching, and who doesn't enjoy the music that sets our mood, and brings to mind the true meaning of Christmas?
