Malamute Man: Memoirs of an Arctic Traveler

Malamute Man: Memoirs of an Arctic Traveler

158 pages

In Malamute Man: Memoirs of an Arctic Traveler, Joe Henderson, who came to Alaska in search of adventure, finds himself on a remarkable journey exploring the Arctic with his Alaskan malamute sled dog team. He ventures into one of the most brutal environments on earth where extreme subzero temperatures are a constant reminder of mortality, and the will to survive is unselfishly shared by both man and dog. Together, they must fend off charging grizzly bears, endure powerful blizzards, and suffer the horror of plunging through thin ice. Joe’s gripping tales of perseverance and his fearless, free-spirited dogs are both humorous and astonishing.

I loved every page of this book! Joe Henderson has an engaging writing style that drew me in and made me feel like I’d experienced his adventures right along with him. He has such amazing stories to share! I really enjoyed the historical info, hearing about Henderson’s dogs and the various encounters with wildlife. His explorations in the extreme Arctic environment are truly amazing! He shows such compassion and dedication for his dogs- they are such incredible animals. This book would appeal to readers of all ages and backgrounds. I hope there will be more books to follow!
