Fallen

Fallen (Fallen, #1)
by Lauren Kate

452 pages
Published December 8, 2009

There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

E
ven though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce–and goes out of his way to make that very clear–she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

This was a fun, quick read (although it seemed to drag a little in places). The characters were exciting and believable. I had a couple of favorites, but I won't say who. Just because I'm mean. No, really, I was grouchy about something that happened to one of them, and I don't want to taint your feelings toward any of the characters by going on about it.

There were some interesting things in this book, like the idea that fights between these fallen angels leave everything coated in a thick layer of dust.

Over all, I enjoyed it!
