This is an imaginative story, set in a very unique world.
That said, there were times when I was fairly confused. A large part of the book was spent setting up things for future installments of the story, which is fine, but it seemed to take away from the "here and now" of the plot. The thing I struggled with the most was not having any idea how much time was passing. At one point it was referenced that a large amount of time had passed, yet nothing had given me the impression the action hadn't taken place in a matter of weeks, if not days.
Overall, this was a good read that left me wondering what was coming next.
