This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
On his sixteenth birthday Daniel Henstock's parents are murdered and he discovers that his life, so far, has been a lie. He's been genetically engineered and those responsible want him back.
To survive Daniel has to run. And run hard. But it was never going to be easy or simple.
When his liberator is captured Daniel returns and puts his life on the line to re-pay the debt.

This book is full of great characters. Daniel is very believable.
A number of things about this book caught my imagination. The idea that everyone has to have a DNA card that includes fingerprints and eye scans is, unfortunately, a very real possibility of the future in our world. There's a certain suit that also comes to mind. I'd like to know more about that!
When those people with any connection to Danial are threatened, he steps up and to fix things.
I particularly like a scene at the end where Daniel faces a bully he's dealt with for years. Poor bully doesn't know what he's up against.
The book is set up for at least one sequel, and I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next!
5/5 stars
